			 BHAGAT KABIR JI

Bhagat Kabirji was a great revolutionary of the Bhagati movement. Through his teachings Bhagat Kabirji stressed on the equality of all human beings irrespective of color, caste and creed and even a belief in any form of God.

Bhagat Kabirji was a great messenger of God (Kabir-means"Great" and Bhagat means-" messenger of God")

Most of the scholars say that Bhagat Kabirji was born in 1398.
There is a story that actually Bhagat Kabirji was a son of a brahim widow who abandoned Bhagat Kabirji from the fear of society, and Bhagat Kabirji was found by a muslim weaver couple NIRU(Ali) and NIMA who adopted him and taught him the weaving work.
By caste Bhagat Kabirji was a Julaha(Weaver- At that time social division of hman beings was based on the basis of their occupation.) Weavers were considered among the lower castes. Among all the revolutionaries of the bhagati movement Bhagat Kabirji has a major contribution to the sikhism. There are 227 Padas in 17 Ragas and 237 Sloaks figured in Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Bhagat Kabirji life is centered around Kashi(Banaras). In 15th century , Banaras was considered to be place of brahmins ,they had strong hold on all spheres of life. Bhagat Kabirji being of lower caste had to face great difficulties in practicing his idealogy. At that time people of lower catses were not allowed to gather at one place for meditation and for prayer. But Bhagat Kabirji used to gather people of lower castes and preach them about God. Brahims ridiculed Bhagat Kabirji for preaching to low caste people.

the moral tone is quite strong in Bhagat Kabirji's Hymns: "Kabir, deck thyself with garments of love.Love and give honour to those whose body and soul speak the truth"
The Ruby of goodness is greater than all the mines of Rubies; all the wealth of three worlds resides in the goodness of heart.
"When the wealth of contentment is won, all other wealth is dust." "where there is mercy, there is strength, where there is forgiveness there is he ("God"). The man who is kind and righteous , who remains passive in the affairs of world, who considers creatures of the world as his own self, he attains the immoratily. The true God is everwith him.

Bhagat Kabirji left this planet in year 1518. Bhagat Kabirji suggests inward worship and rememrance of God. For him, true worship is only inwards. Bhagat Kabirji says "what can helpless road do, if the travller does not walk properly."Nothing can be done if one falls in a well with a lighting lamp in his hands."
