Bhagats of Bhagati Movement
			 BHAGAT NAMDEV JI
Bhagat Namdevji was one of the great revolutionaries of the bhagati movement.

Bhagat Namdevji was born in 1270 in low caste tailor family ofBaba Damasheti ji as father andMata Gonabai ji as mother,in a small village of Naras Vamani,in Satara District(Maharashtra).

Bhagat Namdevji was married before he was 11 years of age to Rajabai (Daughter of Govinda Sheti Sadavarte). Bhagat Namdevji had four sons and one daughter.

Under the influence of Saint Jnanadeva, Bhagat Namdevji followed the path of bhagati (God's worship). In the company of saint Jnanadeva,Bhagat Namdevji visited around the country to spread God's message of being equal, and creation of one God and all are one in his eyes.
Bhagat Namdevji spent nearly twenty years in Ghuman in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. A Gurudwara was built in his memory at that place. At last Bhagat Namdevji settled down at Pandharpur (Maharashtra), where he started to preach the God's message to all people.

61 hymns of Bhagat Namdevji are there in Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Although Bhagat Namdevji appreared about a century before Bhagat Kabirji, but his religious and social views were much like those of Bhagat Kabirji.

Bhagat Namdevji unambigously repudiates all the four fundamentals of vaisnavism. He makes many statements which might be misunderstood as pantheistic,e.g.
-God is everything
-There is nothing exists without God.
-Consider the world and the God to be one.
-The foam and water are not different.
- Bhagat Namdevji, considers God to be immanent, everywhere, in all hearts, and creator of everything.
Shabads in Shri Guru Granth Sahib by Bhagat Namdevji are about how he had reached the God; the creater of whole universe.
