Bhagat Sainji was one of the revolutionaries of the bhagati movement, whose one hymn has been included in Guru Granth Sahib. He was one the deciples of Ramanandji.

Bhagat Sainji was a barber by profession and he served at the court of the king Reva.According to Bhagat Sainji, singing of his(God) praises and meditating on his name constitute the highest worship.

Bhagat Sainji always feel happy in the company of saints. There is one story about that once Bhagat Sainji was going to the King to do massage to him as he was suffering from a pain for a long period of time. On the way he met a group of saints, the saints requested him that they are hungry and need some food. Bhagat Sainji took them home and serverd them the food. After eating the food, the saints asked Bhagat Sainji that, now they want to do some kirtan. The saints continued their kirtan till the early morning next day and in the sound of kirtan; Bhagat Sainji lost in the worship of God and forget that he has to go to the king for his massage. When saints finished their kirtan and bhagat Sainji said goodbye to them. Then bhagat Sainji realised that he missed the king's massage.
Next morning when Bhagat Sainji went to the king, the king was very happy to see him and said that "Sain, my pain has gone for ever with your last night's massage." Bhagat Sainji said "King, please donot play joke with me, I know that I didn't came yesterday and I feel sorry for that."But again king said that "Sain I am sure that it was you."Then Bhagat Sainji realised that as he lost in God ; so God came to serve the king.

After that Bhagat Sainji spent his whole life in the "simran" of God.
